After months of anticipation, I am finally embarking on my 13-day journey to South Korea! I just finished the easiest leg of my journey -- Boston to New York. Now I have a 2-hour wait before I board Korea Air for my 13-hour flight to Incheon International Airport.
For those of you who don't know why the heck I am taking this trip, let me explain. I applied for a fellowship with the Korea Society back in July. The fellowship was open to editors and writers in the educational publishing field. I received word in August that I was one of the 10 or so selected. As part of the application process, I had to demonstrate how I would use the information in my work. So, we will dedicate an entire issue of FACES to Korea.
We will spend the next two weeks touring South Korea. We will begin in Seoul. Because everyone needs a little Seoul.
So, I said goodbye to my kids at the park and ride in Nashua at about 3:15 today. Mommy cried, but Maddie and Brady were little troopers. Brady told me, "Don't worry, Mommy. You will be back soon." Love that kid.
